Three weeks of riddles, dust, and stars,
of whispered maps and midnight scars.
Through winding roads and weathered stone,
we chased a fate not yet our own.
The golden prize—our beacon bright,
a gleaming dream bathed in light.
A trophy vast as mountain peaks,
a fortune grand enough to speak.
Yet now we stand where paths divide,
the ocean’s breath, the cavern’s tide.
One wrapped in dunes, where grains disguise,
one swallowed whole by shadowed sighs.
The beach is warm, the waves serene,
a gilded lure, a siren’s sheen.
The sun-kissed sand, a resting place,
or nothing more than time’s embrace.
The cavern yawns, a beast untamed,
its walls alive with echoes named.
A hunter’s step, a lantern’s gleam,
or swallowed whole within a dream.
You turn to me—our fingers tight,
your gaze a question edged in light.
One path will lift, one path will break,
one step decides the course we take.
But fortune plays a fickle hand,
no whispers carved in sea or land.
so we stand, the air grown still
—
does gold await… or fate's own will?
Continue the story-two diverging paths. Which will you choose: The Cavern’s Gilded Heart or The Sands of Fate.
This feels like standing at the edge of a dream, right before waking. I’m torn between the cavern’s mystery and the shore’s promise...which path to choose. 🤔🤔🤔
I love this! It reminds me of those choose your own adventure books and The Road Not Taken. A voice wonderfully descriptive too. I can’t wait to see how the two realities of this story branch out!
